Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) is a statutory process by which we as a local authority monitor, assess and take action to improve local air quality (https://laqm.defra.gov.uk/). South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) is a rural district undergoing a significant growth. Future developments are to be largely residential and reliant on road-based transport for travel and commuting to the city, London and the surrounding area. SCDC operates automatic monitors with a combination of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Particulate Matter (PM10 and/or PM2.5). The details of the existing three Monitoring Stations are as follows; * Site 1 - Impington Site, A14 Equipment: T200 NOx Analyser, BAM PM10 Analyser * Site 2 - Girton Site, Huntigdon Road Equipment: M200E NOx Analyser, BAM PM10 Analyser, BAM PM2.5 Analyser * Site 3 - Orchard Park, A14/Impington Equipment: T200 NOx Analyser, BAM PM10 Analyser, BAM PM2.5 Analyser Air quality monitoring systems typically run 24/7. Therefore, the Council is seeking Consultants to provide a reliable Service, Repair and Maintenance service to maximise the long-term performance of these equipment and their data capture rate. The data collected from these sites is available: * As part of the statutory annual 'Review and Assessment' report which is submitted to DEFRA providing progress on improving air quality * Provides evidence to support the development and actions agreed in the Air Quality Action Plan * It is available within the public domain on the Council's website for members of the public, consultants, developers and academics to access * Data is used to inform planning decisions and the development of planning policies.
