The main purpose of the agreement is for the provision of subsidised local services requiring vehicles with more than 8 passenger seats. There may, however, be instances where other services are included such as the provision of home to school / educational establishments or day centre transport. This will mainly be where these duties complement or integrate with the local public transport provision. Vehicle(s) of smaller capacities may also be included where feeder routes are required or passenger numbers are very low.There may be instances where an escort / supervisor is required, but this would be specified in the tender specification. CCTV may also be included but if required this will be stated within the specification when "mini competitions" are undertaken.The purpose of this framework contract is to enable the Authority to identify and establish a pool of suitable potential providers for the provision of the services. The Authority will then undertake "mini competitions" when specific requirements have been identified and arrange transport contracts with the potential providers included within the framework. It must be noted that the Authority will reserve the right to award contracts for these services outside of the Framework contract where it is appropriate to do so.It is intended that the framework contract itself will last for 4 years although the individual contracts awarded under it may exceed the length of the framework contract. The Authority intends to award the majority of its passenger transport contracts which fall into this criteria through the framework.No new suppliers may be added to the framework once it has commenced.Awards
