The requirement from 1.12.2011 is for green waste management only and from 1.10.2012 the requirement is for biowaste (food waste and green waste). This Contract Notice is organised into 3 lots. Lot 1 Green waste: to commence 1.12.2011 the contractor shall make provision for a suitable depot or site to receive green waste collected by participating Councils. The material shall be then processed or recycled in a manner that can be demonstrated to have environmental and sustainable benefit over and above disposal to Landfill. Lot 2 Biowaste: to commence 1.10.2012 the contractor shall make provision for a suitable depot or site to receive biowaste collected by the participating Councils. The material shall be then processed or recycled in a manner that can be demonstrated to have environmental and sustainable benefit over and above disposal to Landfill. Lot 3 Segregated green waste and biowaste: to commence 1.12.2011 the contractor shall make Provision for a suitable depot or site to receive green waste by the participating Councils and from 1.10.2012 the contractor shall make provision for a suitable depot or site to receive segregated green waste and biowaste collected by the participating Councils.
