Buying entity๐ฌ๐ง English Heritage Buying unitnot reported Publication date2014-06-27 Contest statusnot reported DescriptionEnglish Heritage wishes to establish frameworks for architectural and building surveying services for works related to its estate of historic sites, associated buildings and offices. English Heritage is seeking consultants who will use a minimum amount of subcontracting. English Heritage manages over 400 historic properties across England as well as offices and stores some of which are also listed buildings. The historic properties contain both historic and non historic assets. They vary significantly in age, size, complexity, geographical location and type ranging from furnished historic houses, ruined castles and abbeys to prehistoric and Roman remains, industrial sites, gardens and statues. Almost all are protected as scheduled ancient monuments and /or listed buildings, registered historic gardens, conservation areas and a few are World Heritage Sites. English Heritage is required to conserve and maintain these properties for the enjoyment of present and future generations. Please note that subject to Government approval from 1.4.2015 The Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission (trading as English Heritage) is likely to be split into two separate organisations. It is intended that a new charity will be set up to manage the National Heritage Collection. The charity will retain the name English Heritage, but will be an entirely new organisation. The remainder of English Heritage (which provides planning and conservation services and advice) will operate under the new name of Historic England, but will remain as the same legal entity. As the framework will cover work on the the National Heritage Collection, it may need to be novated across to the new charity with effect from 1.4.2015. All tenderers submitting a response should therefore be aware that this advertisement is pre-emptive of the new structure approval being granted. If approval is not granted, English Heritage reserve the right to either re-advertise the reduced requirements or withdraw it completely.Awards
