This document set out the commitment of the UK Government to the installation of 25 kV overhead line electrification on more of the rail network in Britain. One of the routes proposed to be electrified is the route between Maidenhead and Swansea including spurs to Newbury, Oxford and Bristol Temple Meads via Bath and Chippenham. The scope of works detailed within this document is to carry out work to six structures along these routes which have been identified by Network Rail as currently having insufficient clearance for the installation of OLE to normal clearances. The Contractor is required to carry out design and construction of the solution for all six structures.
